Just wanted to say how impressive Ms. Garvey's pics of bees have been.  
 
When it comes time for their close up, the bee's best friend is definitely Kathy Keatley Garvey.

I see a variety of honey bees in my garden with distinct coloration, abdomen size, behavior, etc. Do you know of a source of information (photos) that would help in identifying the honey bee races. Encyclopedia of LIfe has a bit but Calphoto doesn't bother to make a distinction. Since most of the honey bees in my garden are wild and, therefore, probably hybrids identification may be an endeavor that is not worth the time.
