If the other emerges now, and it is male, will it be too late for her to mate successfully? And is there some larval host plant handy?

Hi, Win,
Greg will be releasing them back into the wild population where he found them (a Yolo County site). He's thinking he may have two females and two males. In addition, some day he's hoping to establish a California dogface butterfly population at the Haagen-Dazs Honey Bee Haven, a half-acre bee friendly garden located next to the Harry H. Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility on Bee Biology Road, UC Davis.
