We have cultivated our passionflowers for years specifically for accommodating the gulf fritillary excursion to our region for breeding (and our selfish enjoyment and photog pleasures.) This year, however, we have seen not one single frit and our plants are untouched by even one lovely. What's up with that???!!!

Absolutely beautiful. I’m not too familiar with butterflies, and we have a bunch in our yard now. I noticed one had a terrible bent wing and couldn’t fly. It was heartbreaking and I bought a wing, and tried to mend her by fixing it, following YouTube tutorials of how it was done. It was devastating. She flew for a brief moment. Then she fell into the fence and broke both wings off.
My daughter is 9 and named her Heather. We had her for 3 days, and I often find and try to save ani a, but I will never forget this sweet little butterfly. She drank nectar we would make and I really feel as though I killed her. I should have just let her be our pet, but I felt it was my duty to get her flying again. That’s what she was born to do. Anyhow. I will never do that again, I will just keep them healthy and comfortable the next time. Thank you.

Thanks for your story. I have my eye on a gulf frit chrysalis and now know what to expect.
